Description

At the Item, we are constantly looking to enhance safety for the care industry and this is why we have chosen to promote and sell the 'in situ' Evacuation sheet by MIP.

'In situ' stands for 'in situation', and this means that the Evacuation sheet remains on the bed constantly to protect the person and prepares for a rapid evacuation of a person should it be required.  The Evacuation sheet wraps around the person and combining with the mattress, protects them to make the evacuation as safe as possible.  Acting like a sled, the drag loops at the top (head) and bottom (foot) are used to simply tow the person from the building and out to complete safety.

There are 2 alternative choices of securing methods available to secure the sheet to the bed (as below):

1.  Simple Velcro straps that secure to the bed frame

2. Elastic loops around each end of the mattress

Either way is as effective as the other and is personal choice.  The great news from an infection control position is that the evacuation sheet can easily be removed and laundered.

Capacity: Maximum patient weight 400kg.

For everyday or standard use, your Evacuation Sheet does not require any maintenance. Periodic inspection is recommended as accidental damage may have occurred. Attention should be given to stitching, webbing and fabric condition as degradation is possible over an extended period.

Laundering: Follow standard hospital laundry guidelines HSG (95)18. The use of bleaching agents should be avoided. Maximum recommended washing temperature 90° C. Drip dry, (if necessary a low temperature tumble dry may be used) air drying is the preferred method.

This item is latex free and therefore safe to use for people who have allergies.
