Basic 3 hour Paediatric First Aid (non regulated)

Course length 2-3 hours (depending on number of delegates)
Maximum number to attend - 15
This course is aimed at all staff who require the knowledge and skills of basic first aid.
The course includes CPR and choking. All delegates are expected to participate in the practical aspects of the course.

Management of an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally | Assess an infant/childs level of consciousness. Open an infant/childs airway and check breathing. Explain why it is important to place an unconscious infant/child into the recovery position. Place an unresponsive infant/child in the recovery position. |
Management of an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally | Recognise the need to commence Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. (12.1) Demonstrate Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation using a manikin. (12.1) |
