Trust to launch dementia cafe

Golden Days Café launching 10.30am on 9 June

Ipswich Town Community Trust, in partnership with Ipswich Dementia Action Alliance (IDAA), are delighted to announce the launch of The Golden Days Café which will support those living with dementia, alongside their carers and those bereaved.

The announcement comes during Dementia Action Week, which the Club and Trust are supporting.

The Golden Days Café name is inspired by Sir Bobby Robson’s successful and influential period as manager of Ipswich Town between 1969 and 1982. His most notable achievements of winning the FA Cup in 1978 and the UEFA Cup three years later in 1981.

The Café is launching at 10.30am on Thursday, 9 June in the Hall of Fame restaurant on Portman Road. After the launch, it will run on the first Thursday of every month.

Places are limited to 16 cared for participants and are priced at £6 per attendee to be paid on arrival so please book early. Parking is available, details will be confirmed for those booking on. Refreshments and lunch will be provided for all attendees and volunteers.

The Golden Days Café launch and first year of operation has been made possible by securing sponsorship from Ellison’s Foundation, part of Ellison’s solicitors, based in Colchester. The Trust would like to extend their thanks to Nicola and Poppy whose support has made the launch possible and look forward to welcoming them on launch day.
